Faculty Laptop Ownership: Audio recording discussing Faculty ownership.mov

1 year's (out of say 2) worth of PD fund be allocatable to buying IT hardware, in order to continue our Educational and IT learning curves? If so, could one use it say every 2 1/2 years (or so) to buy into 50% of a new laptop? Instead of waiting every 5 years for 100% funding? School proper funds the rest.... so effectively the school is still buying it, but teachers are using some of their PD money to stay current/updated IT wise.

Network Upgrades

  • Add a network port to JC classroom

Supervision

  • Continue with the supervision model and add Teacher over sight to Recess and Lunch, duties where there are computers (M009/Studio, M203/Roger, M208/Mejia, M305/D.Cowan) Supervision & gaming discussion.mov

Consolidate Resources

Rather than furnishing each elementary classroom with video cameras (Flip & Sanyo Xacti), still camera, voice recorder, et cetera which are needed in elementary classrooms/teachers, perhaps the school can move in the direction of purchasing iPhones for staff. That way video cameras, still cameras, phones, voice recorder, and many Applications, such as FirstClass can be accessed by the iPhone. Though, first, the FirstClass Server must be upgraded at school to be able to access school email on the iPhone. Also, staff development must be considered for this type of 1:1 environment with iPhones and the already existing Faculty Laptop Program.
