Chief of IT Operations

Responsible for the network, servers, security, audio/visual reinforcement planning and overall technology operations of the school. Adjunct to the Director of Information Technology in planning and investigating future technology options for the school.

 

The Chief of IT Operations is responsible for assisting the Director of Information Technology for:

  • Translating and assisting with the liasing with external companies and companies the school has maintenence agreements with.
  • Operation and management of the FirstClass Server.
  • Operation and management of the Keystone Database.
  • Assisting with the development of both short-term and long-term information technology strategies and ideas.

 

The Chief of IT Operations is more specifically responsible for:

 

Operations

  • Operation and basic maintenence of networks, both wireless and wired.
  • Operation and basic maintenence of the servers.
  • Management of the various subsystems of the servers, including:
    • File server
    • LDAP directory server
    • Database server
    • Pharos print management server
    • Other essential and non-essential servers.
  • Maintaining hardware and systems, including:
    • Desktop computers
  • Assessing repairs and systems maintenence.

 

Students & Teachers

  • Assisting and troubleshooting various systems-related problems.
  • Help with the education and development of various policy and systems related knowledge.
  • Liasing with SSS in the development and brainstorming of IT education schemes. 
  • Development and assistance with integration of technology into the classroom.

 

Reports to Director of Information Technology.
